A poll of voting intentions commissioned by the president’s allies simulated a hypothetical second presidential round between voters from São Paulo gathering the first lady, and her predecessor in the role ,.
The result, based on 1,000 interviews conducted between April 4 and 8 in the state, showed both strictly tied, with 41% of voting intentions. They opted for blank, null or 10%, while 8% did not respond or said they did not know.
The margin of error of the survey, made by a telephone research institute, is three percentage points.
Michelle has been pointed out as a possible substitute for her husband, in the presidential election, with the likely impediment of the former president’s candidacy for the court.
But it is prevented from running in 2026 by law, as it is a spouse of the president. He would only be a candidate if her husband resigned.
The survey also tested scenarios for left names to the State Government, in dispute against Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), if he is a candidate for reelection.
Vice-president and former governor, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) reaches 35% in a scenario with Tarcisio, which obtains 46%.
Former Mayor Marta Suplicy () marks 33% against the current occupant of the Bandeirantes Palace, while former governor Márcio França (PSB) gets 28% and Health Minister Alexandre Padilha (PT) has 15%.
