European diplomat leader Kaya Calas announced tonight that the decision to remove financial sanctions against her was taken.
“Today, we made the decision to lift our financial sanctions against Syria. We want to help the Syrian people rebuild a new, no exclusion and peaceful Syria. The EU has always been on the side of the Syrians for the last 14 years and will continue to do so » She said in her post.

Syrian Foreign Minister Ashand al -Sibani immediately thanked him for removing sanctions in his country. In his post on platform X, he stressed that this decision would boost Syria’s security and stability.
Last week, as part of his tour of Gulf countries, Donald Trump had a meeting in Riyadh with Syrian transitional president Ahmed al-Sara, stating that Washington is considering the possibility of normalizing relations with Syria.
The EU, however, does not exclude the possibility of imposing new sanctions on those responsible for violence against the Alawites.
The other measures taken, such as the ban on selling weapons and equipment that could be used to suppress citizens will remain in force.
