The US President revealed on Tuesday that Golden Dome, the new US Antimary Defense System, is expected to be operational by 2029 and will have a total cost of $ 175 billion.
“Golden Dome will protect our homeland,” said Donald Trump, in statements to journalists at the White House, surrounded by images of the project, which should only be operational at the end of his term.

Donald Trump had not yet taken possession when he was already announced to the world this megaproject. On January 19, at a rally on the eve of his inauguration, Trump spoke on a plan to build a “totally American Iron Dome.”
The project is inspired by the Israeli defense system, Iron Dome, but will have “more advanced technology” than that used by Israelites, Donald Trump said, adding that “the whole system” will be produced in the US. If the Israeli defense system protects from missiles and rockets, it includes the creation of a surveillance satellite network and a separate fleet of attack satellites capable of incorrecting and slaughtering long and short -range missiles.
Trump added that the system would be “capable of even intercepting missiles thrown across the world, or launched from space.” In addition, this anti -seissile defense system will be designed to combat a wider range of threats, including hypersonic weapons capable of moving faster than the speed of sound and fractionated orbital bombing systems – also called FOBs – which could throw warheads from space. “They will all be eliminated from the air,” says Trump. “The success rate is very close to 100%,” he says.
The US president added that Canada will join the project, which will have a total of about $ 175 billion (155 billion euros).
“This is very important to success and even for the survival of our country. The outside world is very cruel,” Trump said.
