The Minas Gerais Civil Police revealed on Tuesday (20) new and disturbing details about the student’s murder Melissa Campos14, within a private school in Uberaba (MG). The crime, which shocked the country, was committed by a colleague of the same age on May 8.

What was the motivation of the crime?
The case gained more clarity after the teenager’s confession, who said he killed Melissa for “envy”, since she “Symbolized the joy he didn’t have”. Shortly before the attack, security cameras caught the moment the victim receives a note with his “death sentence,” seconds before being struck. The information was released by the IG portal.
According to the delegate Cyro Moreiraresponsible for the investigation, the murder was an act of coldness and premeditation. The author hit the girl directly in the heart with a knife, discarding the initial version that the weapon was scissors.

After the crime, the perpetrator walked the room and remained a fugitive for a few hours. He was found on the AMG-2395 highway after an anonymous report.
Confession moment
During the statement, in addition to confessing the murder, he revealed where he had left the knife used in the attack: the object was found nailed to a tree. The teenager also pointed to the participation of a classmate, who would have collaborated with the plan and was seized two days later.
The investigation of the case revealed that the crime was meticulously planned by the duo. The civilian obtained concrete evidence through images of internal cameras and notes written in the suspects’ notebooks. Both are provisionally admitted to a socio -educational care unit, where they are waiting for the next judicial developments.
