Hundreds of tiles plummeted from the roof of one of China’s oldest towers, “Drum Tower” in Anhui province, about 320 kilometers from Beijing.
Visitors filmed parts of the roof collapsing and almost reaching some people at the bottom of the building. The fall of the tiles lasted about two minutes, according to a witness to CNN.
After the fall, local authorities moved passersby to another location and isolated the area. The tower has been closed for repairs and has no reopening date yet. The tower had already undergone a structural reform in 1995.

Drum Tower is considered the largest in China and was built in 1375 during the Ming Dynasty, located in Fengyang County. The region is famous for being the hometown of Emperor Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang.
