AGU asks PF to investigate racism against TSE Minister – 21/05/2025 – Power

Union’s general lawyer, Jorge Messias, asked the opening of an investigation into the episode of against the Minister of (Superior Electoral Court) Santana Araújo in an event of the Presidency of the Republic.

The episode took place in a building where AGU’s second headquarters operates. On Monday night (19), the minister also sent a letter to the president of the TSE through which he expressed solidarity with Vera Lúcia and claiming that he would take measures about it.

In the document, Messiah states that he intended to “compel those responsible for the administration of the building to take immediate action to hold the perpetrator responsible for the aggression and implement educational and preventive actions, so that similar situations never repeat.”

The president of the TSE, minister, reported at the Tuesday (20) session of the Electoral Court the case of racism.

Messiah also sent the special advisor to diversity and inclusion of AGU, Attorney Claudia Trindade, to the TSE session. In the pulpit intended for lawyers, she read the letter signed by the minister with formal apology.

According to the AGU, neither the agency nor the Public Ethics Committee of the Presidency are responsible for the administrative management of the building, which houses various public agencies, as well as commercial rooms, in spaces regularly leased by CNC.

The agency says that the episode took place at CNC Business Center, a building of the National Confederation of Commerce in Brasilia where AGU units and other institutions work, and that surveillance and reception services are hired directly by the condominium.
