During the 15th Ministerial Trade Meeting of, held in, the MDIC Vice-President and Minister, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the bloc’s countries to boost commerce and investments at the global level. He stressed that the union and commitment to collective well-being are fundamental to achieving positive results. Alckmin pointed out that the joint action of the governments that make up BRICS is crucial to fostering economic growth and promoting a more equitable and sustainable world. He also addressed the main axes that guide the Brazilian presidency of the group, which include cooperation between global southern nations and the formation of partnerships aimed at social, economic and environmental development.

Countries that are part of BRICS, which include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, account for approximately 50% of the world’s population and 40% of global GDP. In addition, they are responsible for more than 20% of international trade, which gives them a privileged position to foster dialogue and cooperation on a multilateral scale.
