The president of the National Institute of Social Security (), Gilberto Waller, said on Thursday (22) that more than 11 million Brazilians made consultation with the government channels to find out if they had discounts or not. According to him, 1.91 million people identified discounts on their benefits and answered the INSS question about whether this deduction was authorized or not.
Waller said 1.87 million people said they did not endorse the discount, while only 40,000 authorized. The data were released on Thursday, in a press conference next to Social Security Minister Wolney Queiroz, who announced that the post office agencies will be used to perform the in-person care of INSS retirees and pensioners who want to consult discounts on their benefits. This assistance through the post office will start on May 30.
The president of the INSS stressed that face -to -face care at the agency is intended for people with difficulties with technology and have not yet made the consultation. Waller said that those who have already made the app for the application, channel 135 or the site do not need to go to the post office for a new consultation.
