A man was arrested on the afternoon of Wednesday (21) in the Vila Lagoinha community, on the banks of BR-364, in Cruzeiro do Sul, on the charges of physically assaulting his teenage stepdaughter. The arrest occurred after the city’s Guardianship Council received an anonymous complaint stating that a student had several marks of violence in her body.

When triggered to support the tutelary counselors, military police went to the educational institution where the young woman studies. In dialogue with school professionals, the teenager reported being attacked by her stepfather with a knife. The motivation of aggression, according to the victim, would have been the discovery by the aggressor that she was talking to a boy through the WhatsApp application.
Given the severity of the complaint, the police team moved to the residence of the minor, where the mother and stepfather were questioned. Both confirmed the aggressions suffered by the teenager, culminating in the prison in the act of the stepfather.
During the care of the occurrence, the Military Police also revealed that the teenager had already been the victim of sexual abuse in previous days. The main suspect falls on the stepfather himself, which, however, denied the accusation.
The case was formally referred to the Cruzeiro do Sul Civil Police Station, which will continue the investigations. The young woman will undergo expert examinations to confirm physical injuries and investigate the denunciation of sexual abuse. The Civil Police must deepen the investigations to clarify all the details of the case and hold the aggressor responsible.
