Allies of the president of Alesp (Legislative Assembly of), André do Prado (), trace plans to convince the deputy governor, Felício Ramuth (), also to resign case (Republicans) leave the government next year to run for the presidency.
The measure would make André governor and, in the calculation of these allies, would be strengthened in an election for the state government, as it would have control of the public machine from April.
The strategy would be similar to that adopted by (PL), which, Thiago Pampolha (), in a seat at the State Court of Auditors (TCE), in order to make way for the president of Alerj, Rodrigo Bacellar (), assume the Fluminense government next year. Pampolha had the nomination to the ECA this Wednesday (21).
For the succession line, the president of the Legislature is the one who assumes the government in the event of the absence of both the governor and the deputy. In the case of Sao Paulo, André do Prado, ahead of Alesp, would be in the governor’s chair during the elections.
The plan, however, would not have the participation of Tarcísio, who has been averse to any conversation with allies involving his eventual presidential candidacy. The governor, ally of (PL), awaits a signaling of the former president about who will be the candidate of the group. Officially, he places himself as a pre-candidate for reelection in Sao Paulo.
Ramuth said to Sheet who was not sought by anyone with proposals to dispute a chair at Alesp or the House of Representatives and stressed that he had no interest in competing for positions in the Legislature.
“They are already getting place for Tarcisio and are already getting place for me. I find this kind of conversation very early,” said the deputy governor.
André do Prado said, through his advisory, that he is unaware of any conversation about it and that he finds the theme “without any sense, because the deputy governor has done a great job alongside Governor Tarcisio.”
The president of Alesp has been trying to be possible as a candidate for Tarcisio’s deputy next year or even the governor, if the chief executive of São Paulo wants to apply for the Planalto Palace. However, in this second scenario, the deputy, who has the region of Alto Tietê as an electoral stronghold, will need greater recognition in the rest of the state.
The mayor of the capital (MDB), the president of the PSD, and the secretary of public security, who is joined by the PP on Thursday (22), also compete for the nomination of Tarcisio candidate to the government if he competes for the presidency.
According to the surroundings of Alesp’s president, the post of governor during the election period would leave him in evidence and expand the chances of victory. The group admits, however, that it will be difficult to convince Ramuth. Therefore, they have been debating if it is worth offering the deputy an agreement to be the president of Alesp in the next legislature, if he accepts to run for a state deputy vacancy.
In the event that Tarcisio competes for the presidency, Ramuth would remain as governor for about eight months, but without agreements that enable his election to the state government, according to deputies heard by Sheet.
André do Prado has the support of the Tarcisio base at Alesp in the dispute for nominating as governor. The group interpreted as a fact that the deputy governor came out of the launch event of the Poverty Eradication Program by the Tarcisio government at the Bandeirantes Palace, on Tuesday (20), before the deputy’s speech.
Ramuth vehemently denied the discomfort and said she only left early because she had a flight to Sao Jose do Rio Preto (over 400 km from the state capital). “If the event had started at the time, I would have been until the end,” he told the report.
