Beyond an extensive career in cinema and numerous nominations to awards, Scarlett Johansson made his debut in the direction com “Eleanor the Great”film starred by actress June Squibb, who made her debut last Tuesday (20), during the Cannes Film Festival.
To a plot Accompanies Eleanor Morgenteina 94 -year -old lady who, after suffering a devastating loss in the family, decides to venture into a dangerous life. Looking forward to connections after moving to New York, she befriends a 19 -year -old student.
Before the screening, Johansson said that, for making an independent movie, none of that is for money, but for the sake of the cinema. “When you make an independent movie, no one is doing it for money […] This movie is about many things: friendship, mourning and forgiveness. At the end of the movie, both the director and June Squibb were applauded for about five minutes, and were thrilled with the film’s acclamation. For Johansson, her protagonist is an inspiring woman, as is the actress who plays her – that at age 95, appeared by the red carpet of Cannes.
Johansson’s debut in the direction competes in the Uni -Rogard Union, which aims to highlight new filmmakers. The feature competes with productions by other Hollywood actors, as Kristen Stewart e Harris Dickinsonwho also risked in the direction. The Brazilian film “The Laughter and the Knife” is also in the cannes dispute.
