Israel will only end offensive if Hamas release hostages, leave power and remove Paza Palestinians, says a prime minister.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday (21.MAI.2025) that the country will only end the war against Hamas if the group releases all hostages, abandoning power and if the US President Donald Trump’s plan is adopted to transfer the entire population of Gaza out of the territory. The measure proposed by Trump is rejected by the Palestinian population and almost the entire international community.
In a press statement, Netanyahu announced that Israel is just a few days old to implement a new humanitarian aid system in Gaza, indicating that it later plans to create a “sterile zone” where the population would be transferred and would receive supplies.
“To allow our freedom of operational action and to allow our good friends to continue to support us, we need to allow (the entry of) humanitarian aid”Said Prime Minister Israeli.
Netanyahu stated that Hamas “is looting a significant part of help and selling the rest at an inflated price to finance your terrorist army”.
Under strong international pressure, on Monday (19.MAI) the Israeli government of a reduced humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip after a blockade that lasted almost 3 months.
According to UN (United Nations) Stephane Dujaric (UN spokesman, most of the supplies entering the region were transported to trucks from the organization itself, but could not move on because the road designated by the Israeli military had conditions of insecurity.
Later, another UN employee said in anonymity to the Associated Press That more than a dozen trucks that came out of the crossing area reached warehouses in downtown Gaza on Wednesday night (21.mai). The Israeli government states that 100 humanitarian aid trucks moved to the center of Gaza.
Between Saturday night and Sunday morning (18.MAI), Israeli air strikes resulted in the deaths of at least 103 Palestinians, according to local doctors and hospitals. Among the victims are women and children.
In Khan Youis in the south, more than 48 people died. In the north of the Gaza Strip, the bombing caused the death of 19 civilians, including women and children, according to medical reports.
According to Israel’s Prime Minister, at the end of the earthly military operations in progress in Palestinian territory, “All areas of the Gaza Strip will be under Israeli safety control and Hamas will be defeated”.
