Initially scheduled for August, the event was extended after suggestions from interested companies
MPOR (Ministry of Ports and Airports) and the State Government of São Paulo announced the extension of the deadline for the completion of the Santos-Guarujá Tunnel Bidding Notice, with the auction now scheduled for 5 September. The dispute was initially scheduled for August 1.
The decision was made after hearing suggestions from interested companies. Opportunities were identified for the model, modeling and premises of the notice, in order to improve the bidding process and allow greater competitiveness in the event.
According to the authorities, contributions identified points to improve the model and premises of the notice, with the objective of ensuring greater competitiveness in the process that will enable the first submerged tunnel in Latin America.
The project integrates the new PAC (Growth Acceleration Program) and will be the largest work of the federal program in the infrastructure area. The winning concessionaire will be responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of the tunnel, which should generate about 9,000 direct and indirect jobs.
