The Ministry of Transport (MD) of the Slovak Republic in one and a half years of operation of the current government has met the objectives of the Government Program statement (PVV) to 40 %. He evaluated it Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) after meeting with the Minister of Transport Jozef Ráž (Direction-SD nominee), which was aimed at checking the performance of PVV.
“I have announced the Minister that, according to our evaluation, if we take the entire government program in the field of transport, after a year and a half we can say 40 % to the fulfillment of all measurable goals we have in the government’s program statement,” He said the Prime Minister.
Fico appreciated the adoption of the Strategic Investment Act, which he thinks is a breakthrough. He also identified the completion and adoption of the Building Act as a success, which, according to the Prime Minister, significantly shortens the processes in the construction industry. He reminded the start of the construction of the construction of the state -supported rental apartments or the successful last year at Bratislava Airport, which after many years ended in profit last year. He considers another of the successes of the Ministry that Slovakia has managed to build up.
“I consider it right that we have nominated the Minister of Transport of a person who is not directly connected to the party structures, we have chosen a manager and, of course, has a managerial approach, of course, its specific results,” evaluated by Fico.
The Minister of Transport explained that the current department is working on several challenges. They are planning to hand over six new highway sections by the end of the year. It is D1 Lietavská Lúčka – Dubná skala or section Hubová – Ivachnová. It also plans to complete the MD bypass of Košice, sections R2 Kriváň – Mýtna and R3 Tvrdošín – Nižná or the intersection D1/D4 near Bratislava.
According to Ráža, the resort also works on the property settlement of the current port in Bratislava and the subsequent construction of a new port. This year, the MD Tender wants to close the Bratislava – Košice airline so that the air connection can be launched in October. The Ministry also plans to build a bypass of Prievidza or move further repair of bridges through PPP projects.
