Strawberries are really tasty. But when you bring them from the store, they also need to be washed thoroughly. Unfortunately, to remove harmful pesticides, most bacteria and various impurities, it is not enough to rinse the fruit under running water. But there is another simple trick. You can use it for fast and effective cleaning.

The season of strawberries It starts in Slovakia in May and usually lasts until the end of July or August. This means that it is slowly starting. Therefore, there will be more in grocery stores every day.

These are tasty fruits, which, however, you must also clean the market after purchasing the market. Only then will they be really healthy. Most Slovaks simply soak them in the water. This is too little to remove, for example, dirt and harmful substances by which they are sprayed.

Why do you have to wash strawberries after buying? You’d better not forget that

  • There are also quite a lot of bacteria and dirt, such as soil crumbs. Therefore, do not forget to wash them thoroughly after bringing them home.

Many Slovaks think that effective washing of strawberries requires break -up of the stems before they are thrown into the water. Maybe you thought it. However, it is high time to realize that this is not true.

  • Removing the stem before washing strawberries will only destroy their taste. It is the stem that protects the fruits from contamination and soaking in water.
  • If you remove it, the fruits will be watery and faster.

How to wash strawberries to make them healthy? There are simple ways

When it comes to what to use to wash strawberries, it’s very simple. In addition to water, you will also use vinegar and baking soda.

The first is a natural disinfectant. Neutralizes bacteria and helps to remove pesticides.

  • Its use for washing fruit is not difficult. Simply dilute it with water in a 2: 1 ratio (three parts of water and one part of vinegar).
  • Then place in the strawberry solution for 5 minutes.

Baking soda is a natural detergent. Gets rid of the fruit of deposits.

  • Just 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 liter of water.

Whatever the way of washing strawberries, rinse them under running water. And of course dry with a paper towel.
