At least two people died on Thursday as a result of landslides in the Chinese province of Kui-čou in the south of the countryinformed the local authorities. Another 19 people from eight different households remain stuck in ruins, TASR writes based on AP, Reuters and AFP reports.
The bodies of the victims were found by the Chinese authorities around Čhang-Sh, while stuck people reported from the nearby village of Ching-Jang, reported Sinchua news agency. According to the local newspaper, there was a power outage around the affected village.
The Chinese Ministry of Emergency Situations have called on the rescue teams to spend “all possible forces” to find missing persons. However, they added that their work makes it difficult to “steep terrain at a high altitude”. The residents of the affected province informed that the rain continued on Thursday night. The Chinese army was also involved in the rescue events. Local authorities issued a geological disaster warning.
