Italy is one of the most popular destinations on a summer holiday. But if you drive there by car, it is important to know the local rules. Above all, this rule on tires. Look.

Where else to go on a summer holiday than to Italy? There they just have everything. Sea, mountains, sun, incredible amount of excellent food and drink, elegant women, gallant men, in short, what more could you want? Although Italy is a fairy -tale destination, it is necessary to get used to a few changes, especially in terms of cars. First of all, it is important to know that in Italy it is differently governed differently than in the Czech Republic. The roundabouts are practically riding straight, it does not slow down on the retarder, but it accelerates to make you fired nicely, giving advantages practically does not exist. This is a little exaggerated assertion, but it is really necessary to be careful, because certain driving rules are not taken into account. And another thing to be careful about is this rule of tires.

For what tires in Italy there is a risk of a fine

In Italy, they have it the other way around us. In the Czech Republic, everyone knows very well that from 1 November to the end of March must be winter tires. Otherwise, there is a fine of up to CZK 5,000. Since March 31, tires can be changed for summer, but no law on the summer tires in summer is in our country. In Italy, it is exactly the opposite.

In the summer you must have winter tires nicely overwhelmed for the summer. And you can ride them in Italy all year, you don’t have to move them for winter. But what is the risk of coming to Italy with winter tires? The punishments are much harder than in our country. Even as a tourist you would have to pay a fine, but this time not CZK 5,000 as in our country, but the amount from CZK 10,600 to about 42 000 crowns. In Italy, they do not really get fines.

The fine is the smallest

However, the fine is the smallest thing that can happen with winter tires in Italy. There is also a risk that you will be confiscated by a technical certificate. It is also possible that in the event of an accident, the insurance company will refuse to pay the funds to pay the damage. So when you go to Italy on vacation, really make sure you are overwhelmed. Although there is a possibility to have tires replaced directly in your holiday destination right after arrival, this process can cost you several hundred euros, which is not really worth it compared to the Czech Republic.
