Carmen Lúcia denounces racism against TSE minister at a government event – 21/05/2025 – Power

The minister, president of the (Superior Electoral Court), reported on Wednesday (20) a case suffered by Minister Vera Lúcia Santana in a government event last Friday (16).

Vera Lúcia was barred when she arrived at the headquarters of (Attorney General of the Union) to participate in a government event, according to the TSE. The event was the 25th Ethical Seminar on Management, promoted by the Public Ethics Commission of the Presidency of the Republic.

Cármen Lúcia condemned what happened during this Wednesday’s TSE session and stressed that she makes several campaigns for inclusion and racial equality. She also provided solidarity with Minister Vera Lúcia and stressed that every human being deserves respect.

Even after the incident, Minister Vera Lúcia managed to enter the scene and participate in the event, said Cármen Lúcia. “After some measures, the minister was authorized and fulfilled her commitment to give the lecture.”

Minister Jorge Messias, from AGU, said he will take action to investigate what happened, according to the minister. “The minister sought the minister and also sought me. He sent to this court a letter saying that he sympathized not only with Minister Vera Lúcia Santana, but with this Superior Electoral Court.”

The President of the Court said it has defeated the Public Ethics Commission of the Presidency of the Republic to make formal science to the displeasure. “This presidency and all Electoral Justice does not accept criminal practices for discrimination, racism, or whatever.”
