Netanyahu appointed new chief Shin Beta despite the ban on the Attorney General.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Thursday that he appointed Major General David Zini for the post of counter -intelligence director of the Bet. He did so despite the fact that the Attorney General banned the appointment of a new director of the intelligence service. TASR informs this based on the AFP report.

According to Times of Israel, Zini is currently head of the Israeli Armed Forces Command. He is also responsible for accelerating the levies of ultra -orthodox Jews into the army.
