Category made a 24 -hour vote and accepted subway proposal; won 5.01% salary readjustment
São Paulo subways accepted the State Government’s proposal and by majority discarded the strike that could be held from Tuesday (27.MAI.2025). The decision came on the night of this Thursday (22.MAI.2025) after an online vote that lasted 24 hours.
With the participation of 2,774 people, 79.16% voted to accept the proposal that includes salary adjustment of 5.01%. Another 18.71% voted to reject and 2.13% abstained.
Here are some items of the final proposal:
- maintenance and renewal of the collective agreement for 2 years;
- Salary adjustment of 5.01%, and 4.1% will be paid soon and the remaining 1% will be used for a year to avoid increased health insurance in the category;
- salary fertilizer;
- The will no longer charge the expert medical report annually.
The category also said that it will now intensify its struggle against the privatization of the subway. “Facing the outsourcing of maintenance and the career plan are the concrete battles of this immediate moment of the struggle against privatization”declared the subway.
The workers also held an assembly on Wednesday (21.MAI), where they launched a new space at the headquarters of the São Paulo Metrovaries and Metroviaries Union, located at 700 Padre Adelino Street, in the Belém neighborhood, east of São Paulo.
