The best period for fertilizing orchids is the time of their active growth, i.e. spring and summer. It is then that they need more nutrients to produce new leaves, flower shoots and develop roots. So it is worth using home -made orchid fertilizer during this period, which will improve the flowering of our specimens.

We only need it to do banana and water peels. The skin abounds in phosphorus, potassium and magnesium, as well as other microelements that will have a positive effect on the development of orchids. In addition, potassium will support the flowering of the plant and strengthen it, and phosphorus will stimulate the growth.

All you have to do is cut the skin from one banana into smaller pieces, put it in a jar and pour 0.5 liters of boiled, cooled water. Leave the mixture for about 2 weeks, leaving it in a cool and dark place. We mix every few days.

After this time, we strain the fertilizer and before using it, dilute with water. Mix half a glass of fertilizer with half a glass of water. We water the orchids with such a conditioned condition once every 2-3 weeks.
