From time to time I like to come up with something other than classic suggestions for breakfast – a good example is just toast rolls with sausages. My household members like to eat them at least once a week, in the company of your favorite vegetables. This recipe is so successful that I sometimes serve rolls with sausages to guests. They always disappear quickly from the plates.
- 6 slices of toasted bread,
- 3 sausages (or 6 mini sausages),
- 6 slices of yellow cheese (e.g. gouda),
- 2 eggs,
- 2 tablespoons of milk,
- Breadback roll,
- salt and pepper to taste,
- Frying oil.
Cut the skin from each slic of toast bread. Then roll out the slices with a roller so that they become thinner and more flexible. Place a slice of cheese on each sliceand then the sausage (if you use large frankfurters, cut them in half). Collapse every slicer into the roll, starting from the side with the sausage.
In a bowl, beat the eggs with milk, season with salt and pepper. Dip each roll in the egg and then coat in breadcrumbs. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Fry the rolls on each side until golden brown until crunchy. Rollads taste best hot, served with your favorite sauce, e.g. ketchup or mustard.
