One of the most traditional races of world motorsport, the proof of 500 miles from Indianapolisor Indy 500will be held this Sunday (25/05), at 13:30 (Brasília time), at the Indianapolis Circuit Motor Speedway, in the United States. This will be the sixth stage of Indycar Series season 2025.
It will be edition 109 of the race. In total, 33 pilots will participate in the race. There is a Brazilian, who is Hélio Castronevesfrom the Meyer Shank Racing team, which will start in 22nd position.
Hélio, now 50, is able to legend in the race. He has four winning wins in 2001, 2002, 2009 and 2021, one of the four record holders to win four times (the other three were AJ Foyt, Al Unser and Rick Mears). The Brazilian is the most successful foreigner of Indy 500.

How does the Indy formula work?
The Indy Formula is the main category of United States and one of the most traditional motorsport worldwide. It has races in mixed, street and oval circuits.
The season usually has 17 steps. Some races are short -lived (such as the street), others are long distance, such as 500 Miles of Indianapolis.
There are races with two batteries over the same weekend. As with Formula 1, the score is attributed to pilots at each step, varying according to the arrival position.
The points system rewards up to 25th place. Those who win receive 50 points, with bonus to pole position, led laps and more turns in the lead.
