Freedom is not running a hand in the guard's ass: Gladson shows that he also knows how to exercise authority and demand respect

The reaction of Governor Gladson Camelí and his government against the demonstrations recorded on the morning of Friday (23), on the premises of the Federal University of Acre (UFAC), during the closure of the GCF Task Force-Meeting in Rio Branco that brought together leaders from 11 countries and more than 43 states and provinces-, however grotesque, the images that recorded the immobilization of the protesters, was necessary and proportional to the proportion Environmental violence.

As much as we are aware that, in the university environment, there will always be room for heated debates and intense disagreements – very proper to the youth that almost composes the entire environment – what happened there was far from a democratic manifestation or even a peaceful protest.

First, there was no environment there for protests of this nature. The State Government, which has always made clear its conversion to the elementary principles of nature conservation – whose governor, Gladson Cameli, were missing from the acrean minister Marina Silva, the environment, as a driving force of this debate that seeks to keep the forest standing and untouchable natural resources – there was no reason to be the target of part of the students, much less that way.

Second, because, over the time it has been in power, for the past six years, Gladson Cameli has been demonstrating that he is a Democrat for conviction, who sits with strikers in the midst of the tensions that come from these movements and that even under intense criticism opens dialogue, and almost always his government has obtained consensus on manifestations of the genre.

As a journalist who has participated in demonstrations of the genre and has been with governments in Acre for 45 years-precisely Junior to the present day-I can quietly say that Gladson Cameli is a Democrat because he does not keep resentment of the criticism they do, does not pursue opponents or vulgar opponents and never, never opened a lawsuit against journalists or pseudo-jornalists who use their spaces, including social networks, including social networks, including social networks, including social networks, including social networks, including to address the most clumsy accusations.

Less less, throughout all these years, I have seen communication bodies to be invaded, television broadcasters have to go down, printed newspapers have their bick printers and journalists having to literally swallow what they had written. Less less, the police broke the head of strikers and innocent people, as was the case with the so -called “day D”, of sad memory in the 1980s, when Brazil was reunited with democratic principles. Yes, I was there, maybe neither guilty nor innocent …

What happened at Ufac on Friday, however, was not a legitimate manifestation. In a government that has almost 70% popular acceptance in the state, according to research by the most diverse institutes, whose governor was reelected in the first round with more than 60% of the votes, of course those students there were everything – but democratic protesters! They were provocators, components of a minority that, since 2018, was removed from the destinies of the state and has been trying to return to the ribalt of any and all hours, even if it includes the lie, the aggression, the low attack and the violence.

In times of social networks, the small group could easily be classified as free and vulgar troublemakers looking for fame and aiming to record videos for section. Because they had their videos, for the moments of fame they proposed.

In search of sealing, nothing better than the presence of institutional and international authorities. Always Bonachão Gladson Cameli, however, showed that the exercise of authority and reaction lasts to free and irresponsible attacks are also part of the state action.

If Gladson and public agents had not repelled the aggressions firmly, certainly, until the end of the current government, there would be something worse or similar – even if the governor was getting out of not making mistakes and distributing flowers or gold on the streets, there would still be someone willing to act that way because, after all, what the bad guys sought is that: to embarrass the governor and challenge the state authority.

Those who sponsored this will finally have images to display in the next election campaigns and in the minutes of fame of the group. However, the truth will prevail: never, throughout the history of Acre, the Acre people lived with such a truly democratic governor as Gladson Cameli.

What can not be confusing freedom with the back of the guard’s ass.

This is what they tried to do. The guards reacted. Freedom and democracy, all – other honor!
