With ‘The Secret Agent’, a Brazilian duo is featured in Cannes; film also played palm of gold; See the list of winners
The Brazilian won this Saturday (24) the award for best male interpretation in the 78th by “The Secret Agent”, film of. The director received the prize, delivered by Spanish Rossy de Palma, on behalf of the actor, who was not present at the award. “He is a great actor and I hope ‘the secret agent’ will bring him many good things,” said Mendonça Filho, who received won the best director award.
In the movie, Moura plays a teacher who returns to Recife to find her son, unaware that her past, in which she faced corruption, will endanger him. “The character I interpret only wants to live with the values that represent him. It is terrible that, at dystopic times, to remain true to his values of dignity to be dangerous,” Moura said a few days ago in Cannes.
The actor joins the select group of Brazilians who won the award, which until then had only Fernanda Torres – awarded in 1986 because I know I will love you, directed by Arnaldo Jabor – and Sandra Corveloni, winner in 2008 by Pass line, directed by Walter Salles.
