Krtonožky is not a typical garden pest, but if you are settled, they can do great damage. How to face them?
Do you remember the krtonožka?
If you did not miss reading and cartoon fairy tales according to the theme of Ondřej Sekora, then you have quite good basic information about the insects that live in our country. Even Krtonožka general in the fairy tales about the beetle of Pytlík and Ferd was not missing. And she was feared!
This tremendously interesting insects are also pests in our gardens. You will encounter it rarely, but if you appear, it can cause a real disaster.

What a mole looks like and where you find it
It is a relatively large insect and striking especially the massive front of the body. The children might say that they are crickets and crayfish, which is nonsense, but the appearance of a martenic tells a lot. Massive front legs are well adapted to rake and insects grow up to 10 cm, but typically less about 4 to 7 cm.
You would only see a martenician exceptionally, because he spends his whole life in the ground. If you do not dig it during the engraving of the flower bed, you would only come across it at night or after the rain.
So how do you even find out that the mole presents in your garden? The death of plants or non -harvested seeds reveals that something is happening, but insects do not catch in the act. It will be revealed by small piles of clay or longitudinal cracks in the soil. Seedlings and seedlings can be faded or refuted without apparent cause.
Exceptionally, the moleflowers also eat fruits, most often strawberry. They like to destroy the root system of small fruit shrubs, lawns and ornamental plants. Of the vegetables, carrots, cabbage, pumpkins, cucumbers, tomatoes and legumes most often eat.
How to get rid of mole
If you suspect that your Krthonožka has settled in your garden, you can push it out with a repellent dust made from a general jump. It is available as a reflection of Krtonožek in specialized shops.
Because the mole and their larvae survive in the soil, it might seem that autumn engraving can greatly help the liquidation of this garden pest. Unfortunately, the larvae survive at a depth of 2 meters, and therefore it is nonsense to believe that you will destroy them in this way.
Although it is also possible to protect grown greenery with different types of tissues from below, even this type of protection cannot be easily used throughout the garden. If you build a new raised flower bed, it is good to consider such protection.
It is also good to know that marteniopians hunt birds, cats, but also moles. Their piles do not suit the lawn, but they will help with Krtonožky.
Because the Krtonožka bothers water, you can pour a soap solution into the holes and slots. Use one teaspoon of liquid soap or detergent for 4 liters of water. The krtonožka should then climb to the surface and you can catch it. It seems easy, you can probably catch a few pieces, but it is hard to say whether it is possible to get rid of the martenic in this way.
When it comes to disposal, at least two are used to the martenic traps. You can make a bowl of beer or diluted honey. Both should lure a krtonožka like slugs. It is a proven and popular way, but they also use other ways of disposal.
There is also the aforementioned biological protection, or so -called parasitic nematodes of the family Steinerne Carpocapsae. These can be purchased directly from biolaboratory and in shops designed for ecological gardening. Hlusage attacks only pests and destroy not only individuals, but ideally the whole population. They are added to the soil in spring and autumn.
