Extraordinary General Assembly of the Brazilian Football Confederation considered the elections of President Ednaldo Rodrigues and eight vice-presidents and that of the Fiscal Council for Quadrenniums 2022/2026 and 2026/2030
Extraordinary General Assembly of This Saturday (24) in Rio de Janeiro considered the elections of the president null and eight vice-presidents and that of the Fiscal Council for Quadrenniums 2022/2026 and 2026/2030. In addition, the Assembly, “irrevocably and irreversibly,” confirmed that the statutory reforms approved in 2022 and 2024 are legally null. With this, it determined the compliance with the decision of the TJRJ, which provides for the removal of Ednaldo Rodrigues from the presidency of the entity and the board, and calls on new elections.
The electoral process for the quadrennium from 2025 to 2029, which will be held on Sunday (25), was chancelled. It was also documented that FIFA and Conmebol were informed about the Extraordinary General Assembly and the Sunday Electoral Assembly of Sunday and were invited to accompany the electoral process through observers. This Saturday’s Assembly was accompanied by the CBF board of directors and was attended by 26 of the 27 state federations. The only absence was the Paulista Football Federation, which did not send a representative.
