The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) approved a credit of R $ 5.05 billion for the New Rota de Oeste dealership doubles 444 kilometers from BR-163, in Mato Grosso. The work is carried out in partnership with the State Government.

Of this total, BNDES subscribed R $ 4.575 billion in debentures – debt title that generates a credit right to the investor – and approved financing in the amount of R $ 475 million, through BNDES FINEM.

The offer of debentures was coordinated by BNDES with BNP Paribas, which also invested in the emission. Considering the improvement works on BR-163, total investment should reach R $ 9 billion.

The highway is one of the main logistics runners used in the flow of agricultural production in Brazil.

The announcement was made during an event with the presence of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the ministers Carlos Favaro (agriculture and livestock), Paulo Teixeira (agrarian development and family farming) and Marcio Macedo (General Secretariat of Presidency) and the president of BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante.

“In partnership with the state government, we find a solution that will decrease travel time by 1h30, will bring much more security, much more productivity to drain production, will generate more jobs, quality of life and improvements for the state,” Mercadante said at the event.

In addition to BR-163, BNDES also operates in other road projects in Mato Grosso, such as MT-100 highways, MT-246 and MT-130.

Since the beginning of the Lula administration in 2023, the bank has lent R $ 29 billion to execute works and projects in the state.
