Acre Civil Police Office and Corregedor General Thiago Fernandes Duarte gave an interview early Saturday night (24) at the Flagrant Police Station (Defla), where he commented on the release of the Civil Police agent Fábio Caldeira.

According to the delegate, Fabio was released because he was considered a “victim of murder” and said investigations are underway. The case will be determined by the Institution’s Corregedoria. During the interview, Duarte could not respond to reporter Rose Lima because the victim, 55 -year -old Francisco Rui Costa was killed inside her backyard by the civil police officer.
Fábio Caldeira was released around 7 pm on Saturday, without arrest in the act and without custody hearing, since he had been taken to the police station by the Military Police.

The Civil Police of the State of Acre report that, on Saturday morning (24), there was an incident in the Isaura Parente neighborhood, in Rio Branco, involving an agent of the institution, which resulted in the death of a man.
The agent was presented to the Flagrant Police Station (Defla) by the Military Police and, immediately, the General Corregedoria of the Civil Police assumed the presidency of the procedure, aiming at the rigorous investigation of the facts, ensuring full exemption and transparency in the investigations.
The Civil Police reaffirms their commitment to legality and institutional responsibility, ensuring that all appropriate measures are being adopted.
