In the port city of Čongdžin in the DPRK, there was an accident in triggering a destroyer, whose damage was described by the government seriously. They detained three responsible workers.

In North Korea, three people detained three people in connection with the accident that occurred during the last week’s launch of a new water ship, North Korean state media said on Sunday morning. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.

The accident that Pyongyang described as “serious” happened on Wednesday at a ceremonial launch of 5,000 tonnes of weighing destroyer in the port city of Čongdžin in the east of the DPRK. The North Korean news agency KCNA said that the mechanism disorder caused premature slipping of the vessel.

Among the detainees are the chief engineer of the Lodenice Čongdžin, the manager of the fuselage construction and the representative of the administrative matter manager who, according to KCNA, are responsible for the accident.

Kim Jong-un described the act as criminal

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who spoke of a “criminal act” caused by “absolute negligence”, was also present in the incident.

According to Seoul, American and South Korean intelligence services evaluated that the “attempt to launch” the DPRK failed and the vessel remained hanging in the water. However, the fraudulent and internal inspection, according to KCNA, confirmed that, unlike the original estimates, there were no holes at the bottom of the destroyer. KCNA said that the extent of damage is not serious.

The Trepénmo at the DPRK presented as the largest war ship North Korea, which was designed to transport more than 70 missiles to strengthen the naval abilities of the country. Pyongyang said they would put into operation “early next year”. Analysts say that Russians could help in the construction of the ship, writes AFP.
