Students from a school located in rural Sena Madureira, Acre, are being required to assume functions that should be performed by hired professionals. With no cleaning team available, students themselves need to arrive early every day to sweep rooms, clean the bathrooms and collect trash even before classes.

“It was supposed to come to study, but every day I have to clean everything. It’s not fair,” says/ Photo: Reproduction
The complaint was made by a student, in a video that quickly generated indignation on social networks. Visibly shaken, the young woman reports tiredness and frustration for having to share time between school studies and tasks. “It was supposed to go to study, but every day I have to clean everything. It’s not fair,” he says.
In addition to the lack of cleaning, the school faces serious infrastructure problems. On rainy days, leaks compromise the functioning of the rooms, and many wallets are damaged, making learning difficult. Sometimes even water is available for consumption and hygiene.
The situation reflects the abandonment faced by educational institutions in rural areas and raises questions about the responsibility of the government in ensuring minimum conditions for the operation of schools. Parents, students and community residents ask urgent measures.
