The newly elected President of Romania Nicušor Dan visited Warsaw to support candidate Rafal Trzaskowski before the final round of the Polish presidential election.

The elected Romanian President Nicusor Dan arrived in Poland on Sunday at the invitation. He met Prime Minister Donald Tusko and plans to participate in the assembly to support the presidential candidate and Mayor of Warsaw Rafal Trozaskowski. His office on the social network X informed about the meeting with Tusk, TASR writes.

Mayor of Bucharest Dan, who won exactly a week ago in the second round of the presidential election in Romania, announced on Saturday a trip to Poland to support Trzaskowski of the government civic coalition. He will meet Karol Nawrocký in the second round of the presidential election, which will take place on 1 June, supported by the opposition party Law and Justice.

Will participate in the assembly

“I will come to the invitation of my Polish colleagues. I will join the election event to support Mayor of Warsaw, a democratic candidate,” said Dan, according to the news portal Digi24 quoted by PAP.

In addition to the event of Trzaskowski supporters in Warsaw, there will also be a rally for the support of Nawrocky. In the first round of the presidential election in Poland, Trzaskowski won 31.36 percent of the vote, Nawrocki won 29.54 percent.

Before the second round, according to the survey by Opinia24, Nawrocki leads, for which 47 percent of the decided voters would vote. According to the survey, Trzaskowski has 45 percent support.
