Algarve is preparing to receive the highest retail park of the last decade [fotos]

Implanted on a land of 8 hectares of area, and with 23,000 m² of Gross Locable Area (GLA), born one – New Vila Retail Park – which promises to revolutionize the Algarve region.

With 16 stores and priority focus on sustainability, Nova Vila Retail Park brings a wide range of brands with highlighting the 2 Anchor Stores, located at the ends of Retail Park: a large supermarket (with brand to be publicized in the near future) and a Leroy Merlin with over 9,000 m² which will also include an area dedicated to construction materials and professional customers. As well as other brands that will be new in the south of the country, such as “Action”,“ Flying Tiger Copenhagen ”,“ Tienda Animal ”,“ Kik ”, among others.

These are some of the stores, including national and international brands, which open doors on May 29th and will be part of this commercial destination of convenience, offering in the areas of DIY, decoration, electronics, optics, fashion, footwear, food, restoration, etc.

Nova Vila Retail Park is born at the site of the former Portimão Retail Park, inaugurated in 2006 and which was totally destroyed in a fire in 2012.

Designed and developed according to the highest standards of architecture and construction quality, the new Algarvio commercial space is the latest project of Mitiska Reim (promoter and Belgian real estate investor), in Portuguese territory. With this new venture, the real estate fund manager, also present in other 10 countries in Europe, now has 7 assets under management in Portugal.

With an investment of over 20 million euros, Nova Vila Retail Park will create more than 2 hundred direct and non -seasonal jobs which is vital to set the resident population and grow the city of Portimão, contributing directly to economic development and local employability.

In addition to large stores, Nova Vila Retail Park offers a restoration space with a Algarve patio, resting and leisure zones including a children’s playground, bicycle park, electric vehicle charging stations, a prio brand fuel supply and a free 832 parking lot.

“Sustainability is one of the pillars of all Mistika Reim projects and Nova Vila Retail Park is no exception,” as Alexander Mury, Investment Associate of Mistika Reim points out. “We are aligned with the objective of achieving carbonic neutrality by 2050, which we guarantee in the Nova Retail Park village with the implementation of various measures that make it long-term resilient.” All landscaping was performed with drought -resistance plans, and its watering is guaranteed by reuse of rainwater (especially important in this region, given the risk of water scarcity), the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof and the lighting control in the park, with a view to reducing the EMISSIONS CO₂among many other measures ”.

In addition to the creation of a sustainable commercial destination, it was bet on the preservation of cultural heritage and algarve identity. The name chosen – “Nova Vila Retail Park” – originates in the name given to Portimão in the fifteenth century by King D. Afonso V, “Vila Nova de Portimão”. With white and simple facades, the architecture also pays tribute to the heritage and collective memory of the people of the Algarve.
