The president of (Supreme Federal Court), was recorded singing at the house of the president of, Diego Barreto, at a charity dinner organized in honor of the Supreme Minister.
The event took place last Thursday (22), in São Paulo. The celebration was foreseen on Barroso’s official agenda without details. It said it was only a “dinner in support of the entry into the judiciary”.
One of the videos shows Barroso singing the song “Girl of Ipanema” by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, alongside the president of IFood. In another, the minister shares the microphone with singer Paula Lima to the sound of “Don’t let Samba Die” by Alcione.
The dinner was the chef, and the meeting was attended by the community leader and activist and the rector of, José Vicente, among others.
The meeting was organized under the pretext of supporting the Affirmative Action Program for entry into the judiciary, partnership between the (National Council of Justice), the (Getúlio Vargas Foundation) and the Zumbi dos Palmares University.
The fraternization between the president of the Supreme Court and the IFOOD CEO, however, raises discussions about the approach of businessmen interested in court proceedings with the ministers responsible for judging the proceedings.
The delivery application is one of those interested in a supreme action that discusses the existence of.
The case arrived at the Supreme Court as an appeal presented by Uber. The company says there is more than 10,000 lawsuits on the subject of Labor Court. The supreme process would be intended to define an interpretation that serves for all cases.
The court ministers defined that the action will have general repercussion – instruction through which the Supreme Court fixes a thesis that must be followed by the other instances of the judiciary.
The trial must have an impact on employment contracts of employers with iFood. The company entered the process as Amici Curiae (court friend), a kind of third party interested in the action that can clarify technical issues involved in the case.
The rapporteur of the process is Minister Edson Fachin. It is up to President Barroso himself to define a date for the judgment of the appeal.
