Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti landed at Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro at 8:52 pm on Sunday (24/5), to take charge of the Brazilian team.

Ancelotti arrived at a Global 7500 (bombardier) jet rented by the CBF. The aircraft departed from Barajas airport in Madrid. They traveled with him the mate, Mariann Barrena McClay; Chloe Victoria McClay (stepdaughter), the assistants Paul Clement and Francesco Mauri, as well as Diego Fernandes, a businessman responsible for the negotiation on behalf of former President Ednaldo Rodrigues.

Carlo Ancelotti is the fourth foreign coach in 111 years of the national team’s history. Before him, the Portuguese Jorge Gomes de Lima, Joreca (1925) passed the position; Uruguayan Ramon Platero (1944); and the Argentine Filpo Núñez (1965).
Carlo Ancelotti’s debut as a coach of the world’s most victorious national team will be on June 5 against Ecuador in Guayaquil. Following, will face Paraguay, at the Neo Chemistry Arena, in São Paulo.
