The federal government should announce on Monday (26) the dismissal of representatives of retirees and pensioners of the National Council of Social Security (CNPS). The information was revealed by the newspaper S.Paulo Folha and occurs amid investigations into fraud in associative discounts improperly applied to INSS beneficiaries.
According to the publication, the measure will be valid until the end of the findings, and affects counselors linked to class entities – some of which are formally investigated. The decision was justified as a way to protect the credibility of the Council, responsible for defining Social Security guidelines in the country.
CNPS is composed of federal government representatives, workers, employers, as well as retirees and pensioners. There are currently six counselors linked to five retired entities. THE Sheet It found that three entities were notified of the dismissal and a fourth voluntarily walked away.

The officialization of the measure should take place on the eve of the first meeting of the Council under the presidency of the new Minister of Social Security, Wolney Queiroz. The agenda of the meeting will include the analysis of irregularities in the discounts applied to beneficiaries, a theme that generated the departure of former Minister Carlos Lupi and led to the intensification of investigations.
During the meeting, INSS presidents Gilberto Waller Junior and Dataprev, Rodrigo Assumpção, must present updates on the progress of the calculation and the refund plans of the amounts improperly charged.
According to the newspaper, the distant counselors criticize the measure and claim to have been the first to point out evidence of fraud within the collegiate. They threaten to appeal to the Federal Public Prosecution Service (MPF) and the Federal Court of Audit (TCU) to ensure the right to attend the meeting and present their versions.
