The Russian forces launched 367 drones and missiles against Ukrainian cities at night, including the capital Kiev, in the largest air strike of the war, killing at least 12 people and injuring other dozens, officials.
Among the dead are three children in the Zhytomyr region of the country, according to local authorities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, urged the United States, who adopted a milder from Russia and its leader Vladimir Putin since President Donald Trump took office.

“Each Russian terrorist attack is reason enough for new sanctions against Russia.”
This was the biggest attack of the war in terms of weapons fired, although other attacks killed more people.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said 12 people were killed and another 60 were injured. The previous number of dead, provided separately by regional authorities and rescue teams, had been 13.

“This was a combined and relentless attack on civilians. The enemy once again showed that his goal is fear and death,” he wrote on Telegram.
Ukraine and its European allies have sought to press Moscow to sign a 30-day ceasefire as a first step to negotiate the end of the three-year war.
His efforts suffered a blow earlier this week, when Trump refused to impose more sanctions on Moscow for not agreeing with an immediate pause on fighting, as Kiev wanted.
The Ukraine Air Force said Russia launched 298 drones and 69 missiles in its night attack, although it said it managed to overthrow 266 drones and 45 missiles.
