The private humanitarian organization backed by the US and Israel announces that its controversial plan to distribute help in Gaza will begin on Monday

The private humanitarian organization Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, backed by the United States and Israel, has announced that it will begin its controversial plan to deliver help to the entrepreneur was on Monday. The announcement arrives hours after its executive director, Jake Wood, resigned from the position of “neutrality and independence.”

Woods, an American ex -military and founder of Team Rubicon, a private company specialized in disaster response, reported on his resignation in a statement broadcast on the networks. “It is clear that it is not possible to implement this plan,” he said, and at the same time “to the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality and independence,” he added.

Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, formed by US former military, private security companies and operators deprived of humanitarian aid, announced in mid -May that it would reactivate at the end of the month the delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza through a controversial plan backed by Washington and Israel that would replace the United Nations.

From the beginning of his offensive in Gaza in October 2023, Israel has only allowed the entry of humanitarian aid – compas, gasoline and medicines – intermittently to the enclave, in which about 2 million Palestinians live, with hundreds of thousands of people at risk of famine. After the growing international pressure, Israel has partially relieved the blockade decreed on March 2.

United Nations and other humanitarian groups such as the International Red Cross Committee have opposed Israel’s plans to control the humanitarian aid flow towards Gaza.

Woods also called Israel to “significantly expand the provision of help to Gaza through all mechanisms, as well as all interested parties to continue exploring new innovative methods for the delivery of help, without delays, deviations or discrimination.” (Agencies)
