PGR asks the STF opening of an inquiry against Eduardo Bolsonaro

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) requested the Federal Supreme Court (STF), on Monday (26/5), the opening of an inquiry against licensed federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL). The case rapporteur at the Court will be the STF minister Alexandre de Moraes.

Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) son 03 was departed from the House in March this year and moved to the US, where, according to him, denounces the abuses allegedly committed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes. The PGR request meets a criminal representation of also federal deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ), leader of the PT in the House.

In defending the establishment of the inquiry, the Attorney General, Paulo Gonet, stressed that Eduardo has publicly stated that he acts with the United States government to apply sanctions against the STF ministers, the PGR and the Federal Police (PF).

According to him, the actions of the parliamentarian would be a response to what he considers to be a “political persecution” against himself and his father, appointed in a complaint on the STF as leader of a criminal organization committed to breaking with the democratic order to remain in the presidency, despite the results of the 2022 elections.

“Publications are, above all, in social media posts, which reverberate in other media channels, as well as direct interviews with press vehicles,” Gonet wrote.

“There is an intimidating manifesto for those who act as public agents, investigation and prosecution, as well as for judges in criminal action, realizing the purpose of improper providence against what Mr. Eduardo Bolsonaro seems to be a likely conviction,” concluded PGR.

In the document obtained by Metropolisthe Attorney General argues that the deputy’s goal is to embarrass the progress of the technical trial in the Supreme Court, as well as disrupting the ongoing work in the fake news inquiry, also in the process.

“The measures referred to in the demonstrations of Mr. Eduardo Bolsonaro, in their own sayings, encompasses a US entry visa, blocking goods and values that are in that country, as well as the prohibition of establishing trade relations with any individual and legal entity in American nationality or having business in the United States,” Gonet continued.

“The exceptional severity of the measures why Mr. Eduardo Bolsonaro is energetic, vigorously, near the high level of the northern country’s government can be measured by the way Mr. Eduardo Bolsonaro refers to them, and which corresponds to his generally known qualification: it is an international civil death penalty,” said the Attorney General.

“Evidence leads to the omilation that the search for international sanctions to members of the judiciary aims to interfere with the regular progress of criminal proceedings, including criminal action, underway against Mr. Jair Bolsonaro and allies.”

The prosecutor cited a report from O Globo, when the parliamentarian pointed out that “the more the trial against Bolsonaro advances, the more these sanctions will be accelerated.”

Bolsonaro’s hearing

In the document, the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, also requests the monitoring and preservation of the content published by Eduardo Bolsonaro, in order to ensure that the facts are properly determined.

In addition, Gonet asks former President Jair Bolsonaro to be heard by the Federal Police, as he would directly benefit from the conduct described and would have already declared to be financially responsible for his son in the United States.

The prosecutor also pointed out that “the retaliation sought, concatenated and introduced against the authorities responsible for conducting the cases mentioned in this piece are being boring acts of interference with the free exercise of constitutional powers.”

“The events narrated, in short, for the criminal figure of coercion in the course of the process (art. 344 of the Penal Code), the embarrassment to the investigation of criminal offense involving criminal organization (art. 2, § 1, of Law No. 12.850/2013), and the relevance of the type described in Article 359-L of the Penal Code is not excluded. Inquiry, ”concluded Gonet.

As revealed the Metropolisin Igor Gadelha’s column, Eduardo Bolsonaro predicted that the United States should officialize sanctions to Minister Alexandre de Moraes soon, possibly until the end of May.

“Everyone is pricing, as the sanction will come out. I just think two, three weeks is a long time.

The threat of sanctions against Moraes was exposed last Wednesday (21/5) by the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, during a hearing at the House of Representatives Commission of the United States.

Rubio, whose position is equivalent to that of Chancellor in Brazil, made the statement after being questioned by a republican deputy about the possibility of the US government imposing sanctions on the Federal Supreme Court minister.

“This is under analysis right now, and there is a great possibility that this happens,” Rubio said, as he answers the question asked by Republican Deputy Cory Mills.
