PL deputy is accused of being responsible for a campaign of intimidation and persecution against members of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General’s Office and the PF involved in investigations and lawsuits against pockets
A on Monday (26) the opening of an inquiry to investigate the deputy for acting in the United States against Brazilian authorities. The PGR attributes to the deputy a campaign of intimidation and persecution against members of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Police involved in investigations and proceedings against pockets.
Eduardo Bolsonaro has graduated his term in the House and has been in the United States since February. The deputy justified that he decided to stay in the country to “focus on seeking the fair punishments that Alexandre Moraes and his Federal Police gestapure deserve.” Since leaving Brazil, Eduardo has maintained agendas with republican congressmen and assistants of President Donald Trump to try to put measures that press the STF in the trial of the coup plot.
In a letter sent to the Federal Supreme Court, Attorney General Paulo Gonet states that the deputy should be investigated for trying to obstruct the coup criminal action, in which former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is defendant, and the fake news survey. The Attorney General states that, in a preliminary analysis, the conduct of the deputy can be framed in three crimes-coercion in the course of the process, embarrassment to the investigation of criminal offense involving criminal organization and violent abolition of the democratic rule of law.
The document mentions Eduardo Bolsonaro’s performance with the United States government to impose sanctions on STF ministers, PF delegates and prosecutors who work in proceedings and inquiries against the former president and his allies, such as the revocation of entry visas in the United States and the blockade of goods and accounts in US territory. “It is given these measures, to which Mr. Eduardo Bolsonaro is dedicated with diligence, the purpose of preventing, with the threat, the full functioning of the constitutional powers of the highest court of the Judiciary, the Federal Police and the summit of the Federal Public Prosecution Service, thus undermining the normality of the Democratic Rule of Law,” argues Gonet.
According to the attorney general, Eduardo Bolsonaro acts on “retaliatory motivation” and “manifest intimidating tone” to try to “embarrass the progress of the technical trial” of the criminal action of the coup and “disturb the technical work” of the Federal Police. Gonet states that the campaign should be taken seriously and mentions as an example the statement by the United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said on Wednesday, that “there is a great possibility” of Minister Alexandre de Moraes being the target of sanctions by Donald Trump’s government.
The request for investigation was sent to the Moraes Office. Gonet argues that, in addition to the establishment of the inquiry, the minister already authorizes the monitoring and preservation of Eduardo Bolsonaro’s publications on social networks. The Attorney General also asks former President Jair Bolsonaro to be summoned to give testimony. Gonet argues that the former president is “directly benefited” for the campaign and has already stated “being the financial responsible for maintaining Mr. Eduardo Bolsonaro in American territory.”
