The suspended cooperation with authorities, as it understands that award-winning denunciation agreements signed by former contractor of the contractor OAS are not being respected by the Andean country.
The decision was taken by Attorney Anamara Osório Silva, Secretary of International Cooperation of PGR, in an order signed on April 8.
She answered the request of Alexandre Portella Barbosa, Mateus Coutinho de Sá Oliveira, Ramilton Lima Machado Jr. and Roberto Souza Cunha, all whistleblowers linked to OAS, one of the companies that were targeted by Lava Jato.
According to the defense of the executives, peruistic authorities, where there are several investigations related to facts revealed in Lava Jato, have not respected immunity guaranteed to the whistleblowers of the operation.
The defense specifically mentions that Barbosa was denounced by the Peruvian prosecutor for facts he revealed.
According to the Brazilian prosecutor, the Peruvian authorities did not clarify “questions already raised by other Brazilian collaborators about the alleged violations that have generated legal and continuous insecurity lack of transparency regarding the limitation of the use of proof in international cooperation.”
The secretary responsible for the international cooperation of the PGR also said that the employees obtained “legal benefits and limitation of criminal liability already adjusted in the Brazilian jurisdiction”, which must be respected by Peru.
She concludes her order determining that there is suspension of the collaboration of the PGR with the neighboring country “until they come upon clarifications from the Peruvian authorities sufficient to remove any suspicion of violation of the principle of specialty and non -self -incrimination”.
The prosecutor’s decision is another thud in the Lava Jato Peruvian, which has already aimed.
Last week, a body of the Ministry of Justice, the National Secretariat of Justice, interrupted cooperation with Peru, because they were invalidated by the Brazilian STF.
