A He took a crucial initiative last Monday (26) by presenting to the Federal Supreme Court an request for the implementation of urgent measures against misinformation and digital violence on online platforms. “The recent concrete situations reported above expose the omissive conduct of Internet application providers to effectively remove and oversee the aforementioned content, disrespecting the duties of prevention, precaution and security,” the AGU holds the request.
In a parallel effort to combat misinformation, President Lula announced that he will intensify his trips through Brazil from June. During an event in Campo Verde, Mato Grosso, Lula emphasized the need to prevent lies and fake news from gaining space, burning the truth in the country. He highlighted the importance of discussing in the National Congress the regulation of digital platforms, arguing that it is not acceptable that everything has control, except application companies.
