Exhibition ‘Workers’ with a collection of 149 photographs produced between 1986 and 1992 by the Brazilian photographer will be inaugurated at Casa Firjan, in Rio de Janeiro, and continues until September 21
Casa Firjan, in Botafogo, South Zone of inaugurates next Friday (30) the exhibition workers, . Sebastião Salgado’s first exhibition in Brazil after his death last week was a chance. In a note, Casa Firjan admits surprise and commotion: “We were surprised and we were deeply saddened by the news of Sebastião Salgado’s death. Originally, our goal was to celebrate salty salty genius, but now this exposure gains an even deeper meaning: a tribute to this great man, professional and activist who has left an unmatched legacy for art and social conscience.”
For the organizers, the exhibition instigates reflections on the future of work. “The exhibition provokes a deep reflection on the meaning of work for us today. In a context of rapid transformations, with the advancement of new technologies and the evolution of forms of production, workers encourages us to revisit the past in order to understand the changes that are shaping the present and the future” The show follows until September 21, with a collection of 149 photographs, clicked between 1986 and 1992. From Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6:30 pm. The curatorship and design of the exhibition are by Lélia Wanick Salgado, widow of the photographer.
