Stylish, sustainable and especially cheap! Garden furniture from pallets is a hit among domestic handymen. It brings an original atmosphere and turns your terrace or balcony in a single weekend.
Self -made garden furniture has undoubtedly a unique charm. Not only will you save, but you will also get an original piece that no one else has. Pallets are an ideal foundation because they are easy to adjust, are available free of charge or at a symbolic price and their rustic look fits perfectly into the modern outdoor space. Whether you long for a comfortable bench, a table or the entire garden set, working with pallets from pallets is fun, creative and surprisingly simple.

How to do it: step by step
The first step is to choose the right pallets. Ideal are those that are not treated with chemicals. Look for “HT” (cooked), avoid “MB” (methylbromide). Select carefully pallets without mold and visible spots. Most often it is enough for a bench, more for larger assemblies. Remove them with nails, dirt and use a wire brush and sanding paper, such as 80 grain, prepare wood for further work.
After the wood is modified, it is time to assemble. Use one pallet as a seat, the other on the backrest. If you want higher seating, add another half of the pallet as a substrate. Using the wood screws, combine them firmly, ideally through metal angles or flat couplings. You will need an acrewer or hand screwdriver and a classic saw to join. When the base is finished, attach the backrest to the seat part at a slight angle for comfortable leaning.
Finally, aesthetics come. You can paint the wood with paint or stain. Dark walnuts or gray patin effect are popular. After the paint, do not forget to treat the wood with an exterior varnish that protects it from moisture. Add a mattress or pillows for comfort and your new session is ready!

It does not require complex tools or previous carpentry experience. All you have to do is create and a little patience. And if it catches you, you can easily create other pieces, such as a table, herbs shelf or even a swing for children.
Pallet furniture is therefore a great way to get a lot of music for little money. Not only will it decorate your garden or balcony, but it offers you comfort, style and good feeling of your own work. And who knows? It may become your new hobby or even a small business plan.
