Δασμολογικό πόκερ μετά την παράταση Τραμπ στην ΕΕ: Τι ζητούν οι ΗΠΑ, τι προσφέρει η Ένωση

The president of the European Central Bank (ECB), H, criticized Monday Monday the “horrible” phraseology used by the US president recently for the European Union, reacting to his claim that he was created to “squeeze” the US.

He reminded the German ARD television network that the US had encouraged the establishment of the EU and added that saying that “it was actually created in order to hit the US” is “opposite to common sense” and “against history” as “this is not the purpose of the old.

The Republican made the controversial statements about the EU earlier this year, when he threatened to hit her with unbearable customs duties, “reciprocal”, citing his commercial surplus over his country.

For Ms Lagarde, these comments by Mr Trump are part of the “challenge” she likes to use and “we are used to, unfortunately”, as she noted, adding that she is encouraging the EU to continue the US dialogue to close an agreement.

In his most recent phrasal attack on Brussels, the US president threatened to impose a 50% customs duties on Friday on Friday on June 1st, saying that negotiations are not going anywhere. But then, on Sunday, he announced that he was extending the deadline for implementing the duties by July 9, following a conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Laien.

‘We have to do dialogue’

For Christine Lagarde, Europeans cannot “just sit with their arms crossed”. “We have to get involved in dialogue, work with his team, listen to what he proposes,” then “make our own suggestions and negotiate,” he explained.

The EU faces a 10% base duties imposed by President Trump last month on imports from almost all countries of the world, as well as 25% duties on cars, steel and aluminum.

According to the European Commission, the Commissioner for Commerce, Maros Sefsovic, and his counterpart, US government representative on trade issues (USTR), Jameson Green, were to talk yesterday, after his decision to talk about 50%yesterday.
