President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) underwent a new medical evaluation on the morning of Tuesday (27), after presenting a dizziness and being diagnosed with labyrinthitis the previous afternoon. The assessment was made at the Alvorada Palace by Dr. Ana Helena Germoglis, which is part of the team that accompanies the president.
The medical advice is for Lula to continue working from the official residence because symptoms can take 24 to 48 hours to pass. Since yesterday, Lula has received medication to treat the board.
According to information from the Secretariat of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom), the petista woke up well willing and humorous – “the usual normal Lula” – and already works normally, dispatcher with advisors. He may receive ministers throughout the day, although he does not have a closed schedule of meetings. Government members and authorities may be summoned by the President as needed.
On Tuesday, Lula had a number of official appointments. In the morning, he would receive rectors from public universities for a meeting with Finance Ministers, Fernando Haddad, and Education, Camilo Santana, to address the budget of educational institutions.
At 11am, it would participate in the celebration of the day of the diplomat, in the Itamaraty Palace, where there are ceremonies of delivery of the Order of Rio Branco and graduation of diplomats newly approved by the Rio Branco Institute. In this agenda, would also participate the vice president, Geraldo Alckmin.
The events were maintained and the ministers and the vice president were designated as representatives of the president. Lula is expected to be subjected to a new evaluation on Wednesday (28) to define the agenda for the rest of the week.
