Germany’s Chancellor, said on Monday (26), that the European Union (EU) could retaliate technology companies in case the commercial conflict with Washington intensifies, according to Bloomberg. “At the moment, we strongly protect US technology companies, including taxes. This may change, but I don’t want to climb this conflict. I want to resolve it together,” Merz said during an event in Berlin, according to the vehicle. Also according to Bloomberg, the chancellor argued that the European block does not react “impense and hasty”, but stressed: “If there is no such option, we will have to use this instrument retaliation.”

Later, in an X -publication, Merz reinforced the support to. “We will do everything we can to continue supporting” Kiev, he said. “It also means that there will be no more range restrictions for weapons we provide. Ukraine can now defend itself by attacking military positions in Russia.” According to Reuters, Merz should meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday (28) in Berlin.
