Osmar Stábile assumed the presidency of Corinthians interimly after the removal of Augusto Melo.
In his first speech ahead of office, he stressed the concern with the involvement of Corinthians in scandals and asked for union at this time.
In quick conversation with CNN reportStábile said he will only do this Tuesday (27) detailed demonstrations, but has already said that he will not announce new directors at the meeting with respect to the departure of Augusto Melo from the presidency.

“I go to the lifetime and triennial counselors at this moment, as well as to partners and fans.
Before any administrative function, I speak as a fan who lives intensely the love for the club and who, like you, also cares about the political and administrative directions of our institution. The valuable pages of achievements and fights of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista can no longer be stained by scandals. We have always been a club that knew how to overcome moments of turbulence with race, courage and, above all, with the strength of the union.
It is precisely in search of this union, with great honor and pride, that provisionally assume the presidency of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, compromising with total dedication to the interests of the institution. It is time for humility to recognize and learn from past mistakes to reconstruct the present, looking responsibly to a harmonious and victorious future.
This is a unique opportunity to start a new victorious cycle together. We no longer have the right to make mistakes. I will work tirelessly for this, aware that power is passing and the pen is temporary – but Corinthians, this one, is eternal and belongs to the people and all of us Corinthians.

Next steps of impeachment in Corinthians
Despite the defeat, Augusto will only be definitively removed if Corinthians partners ratify the impeachment decision made by the club’s advisers.
Thus, Romeu Tuma Jr., Chairman of the Council, will have up to five days to summon the General Assembly of the Associates so that Augusto Melo’s future is defined. The tendency is that the voting of the partners will be marked in about 30 days.
If members do not agree with impeachment, Augusto Melo returns to office and the current process is filed.
On the other hand, in case of approval among the members, the Deliberative Council will choose the new president of Corinthians through an indirect election, with only CD members and can vote.
Why Augusto Melo was removed
The main point for this process of dismissal is the “Case Vaidebet”. President Augusto Melo was indicted for criminal association, qualified theft and money laundering.
In addition to him, Marcelo Mariano, former administrative director, Sérgio Moura, former marketing superintendent and businessman Alex Fernando André, known as Cassundé are also pointed out as suspects.
Organized asked for removal
One of Augusto Melo’s support pillars in previous moments was the support of the main organized fans. However, this scenario has changed in recent weeks.
Last Friday (23), Gavião da Fiel, Shirt 12, Faithful Macabre and Fiel’s fuse asked the president’s immediate removal.
Other impeachment requests
Augusto Melo is the target of four impeachment processes. The first is related to the Vaidebet case and will resume on Monday, as mentioned earlier.
The second is related to the lack of information about Timão’s financial pending issues.
In early May, two more requests were filed. On the 5th, Paulo Roberto Bastos, advisor, asked the third because of the reproval of the first year of the current management, while the fourth was the request made by the Corinthians Justice Commission on the 7th.
