Hundreds of young people are still waiting for port 65 income supports. There are people who have been ordering seven months ago and are still waiting for an answer.
No answer. It has been so since the income payment program has been extended to younger people.
During the PS government, the answer was faster, but was only entitled to support those who already had a signed lease and there was a maximum income limit to apply.
With the AD government, this changed and started to enter the system, an average of 500 more applications per month. The services were unable to respond to so many requests, at least not in the 45 days of maximum time to assign the supports.
“I managed to find a house in Lisbon, Alcântara. I made the contract with the owner and as soon as I had the contract in hand, submitted the request. The request was submitted on February 2 and we are practically in June and had no news,” he tells SIC Vicente Roque, candidate for Porta 65.
“I imagine the people who receive the minimum wage…”
Before applying, Vicente, who lives in T1, made the simulation: he was told that he could receive up to 70% of the monthly income of 1,100 euros.
“I am already thinking that in four or five months, I will possibly have to get another solution. I am a consultant to an artificial intelligence company, so I have a salary that would consider itself above average for a young man.
In early April, SIC (IHRU) on delays in the assignment of Porta 65, a support attributed to young people up to 35 years. Despite the reports of those who have been waiting for six or up to seven months, IHRU guaranteed that the time of analysis was not reaching five months, that would implement a plan to reduce response times and that those who presented the candidacy in April would be responded until June.
Vicente applied in February and, at a time of a few days before we arrived in June, there is not even on analysis.
SIC again contacted IHRU to order an update of the deadlines and to find out how many supports were awarded since the last contact in April, but got no response.
