The United States has updated travel recommendations for Italy and warned against increased caution due to the risk of terrorism, and there were no specific reasons.

On Tuesday, the United States amended its travel recommendations for Italy and called on the country’s visitors to “increased caution due to terrorism”. Italy is one of the most popular tourist destinations for Americans, wrote DPA, from which the report was drawn by TASR.

The US Ministry of Foreign Affairs website states that there is a risk of terrorist violence in Italy, including attacks and other activities. According to the warning, terrorists can attack without warning. Tourist sites, churches, airports, hotels and restaurants are reported as frequent goals. The US Department did not specify the reason for the change in the classification.

US travel warnings

Italy is now on the US travel list list marked with a second degree of warning, where other large EU states, such as Germany, France and Spain, are already marked. The list has a total of four levels, the fourth means not to travel to that country at all. According to The Guardian, this was published on Tuesday for Venezuela, where, according to the ministry, US citizens are increasingly risk of unauthorized detention.

Millions of US tourists

The latest data shows that Italy will visit 7.5 million tourists and entrepreneurs from the US every year. A large number of visitors were also attracted to Rome by the recent election of the new Pope, which became the American Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost and who received the papal name Lev XIV.
